Post Delivery Shipyard Project Engineer

(*immediate Hiring*)

Location:Jacksonville/Mayport, FL

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for managing and supervising resources assigned by the Post Delivery Superintendent for a specific hull in order to complete the execution process of correcting the vessels deficiencies (E.g., trial cards and Change Forms) occurring after vessel delivery.  

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  This position will require accessing the ship with the capability to lift up to 50 lbs. at times and also requires time spent in an office to complete the necessary paperwork for the Subcontractors.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum a B.S. in an Engineering discipline; plus a minimum of 3 years of Project Engineering or Production engineering experience specific to large-scale marine vessel upgrade projects.  In lieu of a B.S. degree, a minimum of 10 years of applicable Project Engineering experience specific to large-scale marine vessel upgrade projects.

  • Years of experience in ship design must include a familiarity with regulatory body requirements associated with the Ship-Building Industry (i.e. ABS, NAVSEA, MIL, DOD, 46 CFR, IEEE, and The U.S. Coast Guard)

    SKILLS:

  • Capacity to motivate and discipline individuals as required to achieve Post Delivery Department Goals and Objectives (as well as Project Goals) is imperative.  

  • Strong time management skills complemented by the ability to prioritize problem solving/issues resolving activities so as to maximize achievement of goals and objectives.  

  • Drive and discipline to monitor, maintain, modify (as required) and enforce existing department policies and procedures.  

  • Timely decision-making ability is considered to be of utmost importance as is the process he/she uses to evaluate the risks associated with said decisions.  

  • Multitasking capability is a necessity of the job.

  • Must have strong Microsoft Office Suites (Project, Excel and PowerPoint) along with AutoCAD computer skills.  

  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.   

  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.  

  • Must have ability to maintain confidentiality.

Project Manager/Technical Supervisor

Location: Jacksonville, FL or Marinette, WI

Entry level opportunity to grow a skilled marine service team.  

Must be able to manage various marine mechanical repair and troubleshooting projects.

Ability to handle multiple project simultaneously while using resources efficiently and maintaining budget and schedule.

Experience:

Previous project management experience preferred

Previous hands on mechanical experience required

Experience supervising skilled technicians (welders, pipefitters, die makers, etc…)

Marine Diesel Mechanic/Technician

Location: Miami, FL or Jacksonville, FL or Marinette, WI

Diagnose and repair large marine diesels

Install engine hardware and software upgrades

Willing to travel about 50% of time, some international traveled required

Experience:

Diesel engine repair and troubleshooting

Good communication skills

Knowledge of basic mechanical system troubleshooting

Must have own basic toolset

Must have valid US passport

Minimum Technical Degree preferred

General Technician

Location: Jacksonville, FL or Marinette, WI

Diagnose and repair large mechanical equipment

Experience with precision measuring equipment (dial indicators, micrometers, etc)

Willing to travel about 20% of time, potential international travel

Experience:

Mechanical system diagnosis and repair experience

Good communication skills

Knowledge of basic mechanical system troubleshooting

Must have own basic toolset
